Practical answers.

What happens in an introductory lesson?

It's free and lasts 30 minutes. You meet a teacher, talk about goals, try some simple playing or singing, and agree what to work on next. It is not an audition.

Do I need my own instrument?

Not for the introductory lesson. Afterwards we can advise on renting or buying, including the right size for younger players.

How young can children start?

Piano and violin from about age five, cello from seven and classical voice from twelve. Every child is different, so we are happy to talk it through.

Is it too late to start as an adult?

Not at all. Many of our students are adults learning for the first time or returning after years away.

How does booking work?

Use the booking form to tell us your preferences. We will contact you to confirm a time, so sending the form is a request rather than a confirmed booking.

Do students have to take exams?

No. If you’d like that structure, we prepare students for ABRSM and RCM graded exams, and your teacher will help you decide whether they suit your goals.

Start with one free lesson.
